Susan Foster has a love for architecture. Her father was an architect. He graduated from MIT in Cambridge, MA. Inspiration to draw the Boston skyline came, knowing her Dad walked across the Massachusetts Ave. bridge every day from the Sigma Chi house. Foster photographed the skyline from MIT, near the Faculty Club, where she was married. Foster uses all her own photos as references for her artwork. Boston, New York, and Chicago skylines have been completed. The Pittsburgh skyline is on her drawing table, to be completed during the summer of 2013. The originals measure 11” x 50”. All the original skylines are lightly sketched in pencil, then pen and ink, using a Rapidograph pen. Handmade, 100% rag, deckle edge paper is used for all the skylines. Posters and cards are then printed.
